We primarily ship via Canada Post. This has proven very reliable & relatively inexpensive. Packages are rarely lost (something like 1 in a couple thousand so far), and in the single case of damage (not due to inadequate packing) an insurance claim was quickly processed.

We use as much recycled packing material as we can, much of it saved from going to the dump.
